ABOUT YOU AND YOUR FAMILY
I was born on November 3, 1993 in Cape Town.
I live in Khayelitsha.
I have four brothers and one sister - my mother is a single parent.
I am a Grade 12 learner at Thembelihle Senior Secondary School.
My favourite school subjects are Accounting, Life Science, Maths, and Physical Science.
ABOUT CYCLING
I started cycling in 2006.
I chose cycling because the sport offers many opportunities and is quite a new sporting code in the townships.
I joined Velokhaya/LCA in 2006.
In cycling I appreciate the support, mentoring, life skills and respect we give one another.
My biggest achievement was becoming a Western Province Championship gold medalist.
I practice six days per week for two hours a day - on weekends usually four to six hours.
I like being part of a team and achieving our goals together.
I don't participate any other sport at this stage - cycling is it!
Cycling has taught me about maintaining a healthy lifestyle and has also developed my human potential to be creative and to respect others.
My cycling dream is to take part in the Tour de France.
Cyclists I admire are Fabian Cancellara because he is a good time-trialist and Luthando Kaka as my mentor.
CHALLENGES
There are many difficult obstacles to face in the sport of cycling such as transformation in the new South Africa and getting 100% buy-in from ones family.
One of the challenges we face is a lack of equipment - not enough bikes for those that are keen to ride.
GENERAL
I love samp with meat and African salad.
My favourite drink is Coke a Cola.
I admire my mother as she is always there for me when I need her most - she has always supported and motivated along the way.
My dream is to be an accountant or business owner.
