Favourite school subject: Engineering - Graphic Design.

ABOUT CYCLING
When did you start cycling: 2007, with a development team called Heinz Park Cycling and only joined LCA late in 2010.
What cycling programme are you currently in at the Life Cycling Academy: Elite Program.
What is your biggest achievement in cycling: Rode a lot of races and qualified very well for my age however yet to get on the podium!
Other achievements- school etc: In sport it is running - I will be competing in Western Province colours this coming week. I attained a B pass mark for my favourite subject, Graphic Design.
When do you practise, how many days in a week and hours in a day: I am not training as much as I would like to this year because of the amount of school work required for Grade 12 - I used to cycle for up to four hours a day.
What do you like most about cycling: Being there in the pack thinking who is going to finish first - that adrenalin rush.
Do you participate in any other sport other than cycling: Long distance running.
What has cycling taught you: A lot of discipline and patience if you want to get somewhere in life.
What are the dreams for your future: Short-term - I would like to become a professional cyclist and long-term is to ride in Tour De France, which is the biggest event in cycling.
Who is the person you admire most in cycling: Lance Armstrong.
How do your parents feel about your involvement in cycling: My mother is 100% behind me because life has not been easy for our family.

ABOUT CYCLING IN THE 2011 CAPE ARGUS PICK N PAY CYCLE TOUR
You will be competing in the 2011 Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour - have you competed before? If so how many times? Yes - rode twice while in the development club. First time was in group M and the second time in group A.

CHALLENGES
Are there any difficult obstacles faced to achieve your goals in cycling: Finance is the main thing. In the development team you have to organise your own transport and maintain your bike. Races are very far from where I stay.
Your day-to-day challenges - does your family support you etc: Not spending enough time on the bike due to school work commitments.

GENERAL
Your favourite food: Pasta.
Your favourite drink: Pure juice - any kind.
The person you admire most outside cycling and why: My mom - she always supports and motivates me and tells me not to give up on challenges.
What are your future goals and plans? Finish my matric and do a welding course with the aim of working on oil rigs. Always good to have a skill to fall back on should a professional cycling career not work out.
