Zuko Mabombo - Team GT/Velokhaya/PPA

I was born on 3 June 1988.

I am currently studying Mechanical Engineering.

I live in Khayelitsha.

I have two brothers and two sisters - my family owns a business.

My dream is to own by own business.

I started cycling when I was 17 years old.

I have been riding for the LCA's elite team for more than two years.

I train more than 12 hours a week.

I enjoy cycling because it keeps me healthy and fit.

I don't participate in other sports.

Cycling has taught me never to give up.

My cycling dream is to ride the Tour de France.

The negativity of my friends towards cycling has been a challenge I've had to overcome. Another challenge is to cycle, safely, on the roads.

I overcome the challenges I face by being positive.

My cycling hero is Lance Armstrong, seven times winner of the Tour de France.

I love roast potoatoes, '5 Alive' juice and enjoy watching the news and listening to Hugh Masekela.

I relax by watching movies with my friends.
