
Getting to know Jeroen:
I became involved when I was approached by Glyn Broomberg in 2007 to take things to the next level in 2008.
Before I joined the LCA I was a Director of High Performance Cycling at SSISA and Sports Physician, which is still ongoing.
At the moment I am training 17 cyclists and their ages range from 18-41.
Time management is one of the challenges I face at the moment.
I believe in doing things properly and the results will follow.
The best part of the job is when I see people achieve their dreams.
My message to the youth of today is to 'Aim for the stars and you will reach the sky'.
My wish for the LCA is to fundamentally change the outcome of at least one persons' life each year.
I was born on February 7, 1975 in Johannesburg.
I currently live in Cape Town.
I am married to Niki and we have a daughter Sophie (2).
I am a former National Champion XC Mountain bike (2002) and age group champion (2005-2008).
As a family we enjoy social cycling.
What I love about cycling is the freedom to go where you want to.
I have been cycling since the age of three - back then I was the proud owner of a red tricycle which I rode up and down the driveway.
I enjoy all sports and any activities on the mountain or beach.
I draw inspiration from many people depending on the context.
Best advice was from my mom - 'Go and have a beer!'
I have been fortunate in that I have never had any single major obstacle to achieving my goals. I have always has support from my family, particularly my mother who gave me the tools and support to do anything I wanted. Rather, dedication and perseverance have overcome numerous challenges throughout my life.
Head on! - that is how I overcome any challenges I face.
The person I most would have liked to have met is Albert Einstein.
